Gary, Director Department of Managemen Proposed Legislation for January 18, 1979 Commission Agenda Attached please find a proposed ordinance appropriating $3,500 to reimburse the Department of Tourist Promotion for the cost of the promotional assis- tant agreement with Florida A & M University for the Annual Orange Blossom Classic. On October 12, 1978, the City Commission passed Resolution #R78-647 authori- zing the City Manager to establish a promotional. assistant agreement not to exceed $6,000 with the Florida A & M University for the Annual Orange Blossom Classic Football Game with the funds coming from the Department of Tourist Promotion fiscal year 1978-79 budget. The original intent was to provide funds for this activity with $2,500 already budgeted in the Department of Tourist Promotion for this purpose and$3,500 from Special Programs and Accounts - Quality of Life, City Wide Events. However, because of a time constraint, the Department of Tourist Promotion was authorized to prepare a direct payment in the amount of $6,000 to come from their regular budget for this purpose with the understanding that a transfer would be made at a later date. Hence, the attached ordinance merely transfers an appropriation of $3,500 from the General Fund, Special Programs & Accounts, Quality of Life -City Wide Events to its appropriate cost center - the Department of Tourist Promotion. as 8 9 0 • 19 Joseph R.
