Dear Mr. Grassie:
On Monday April 30th, 1979, The second annual Burger King/
Coconut Grove Children's Theatre perform-a-thon will once
again be produced from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. twelve full
hours of performance at Gusman Cultural Center 174 East
Flagler.
The Coconut Grove Children's Theatre is a non profit
organization devoted to Theatre Arts for youth.
Our students work in every aspect of physical theatre
with classes in theatre history, technique, music, voice,
dance, mime, creative dramatics and technical theatre
(make-up costuming, lighting, sound, scenic design and
execution). These training efforts are culminated in our
annual perform-a-thon. In retrospect, this event has
proven it uniqueness and potential as a vehicle of outreach
for over 6,000 of the city's children, young adults,
senior citizens, the handicapped, mentally retarded,
socialy disadvantaged 8 deprived groups who would have
never had an opportunity for such an enriching experience
without the cooperative efforts of the Dade County School
Board, private institutions, and community health 8
social agencys and The City of Miami at Large.
