RESOLUTION NO. 7 ' w 38
A RESOLUTION STRONGLY URGING THE DADE COUNTY
SCHOOL BOARD TO MEET IN JOIAII'SESSIOLt WITH THE
MIAMI CITY COMMISSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF
DISCUSSING AND RESOLVING MATTERS OF MUTUAL
CONCERN AND ALSO RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING SAID
SCHOOL BOARD TO ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THE
HEREIN RESOLUTION AND RESPOND THERETO.
WHEREAS, the City Commission over the past several years
has funded programs operated by or for the benefit of the Dade
County school Board, for example, the School Resources Officer
Program, the Dade County Community School Program, and the Dade
County After School Care Program; and
WHEREAS, it was the intent of the City Commission that
such financial support would be of a temporary nature; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be absolutely
essential that the Dade County School Board and the City Com-
mission meet in joint session as soon as possible to discuss
and resolve problems concerning these matters;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEDBY THE "DOCUMENT
DOCU��lENTISINDEX
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: ITEM NO.
Section 1. The Dade County School Board is hereby
strongly urged to meet in joint session with the Miami City
Commission on or before April 23, 1979, for the purpose of
discussing and resolving matters of mutual concern.
Section 2. The Dade County School Board is hereby
respectfully requested to acknowledge receipt of the herein
Resolution and communicate its early response thereto through
the office of the City Manager of the City of Miami.
