WHEREAS, the city Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8716 on October 26, 1977, establishing resources and appropriations for the implementation of capital improvements in the City of Miami,, Florida, for the, fiscal year ending September 30., 1978; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 8874, Amendment No. 7 Ordinance No. 8716, is the Capital Improvement Appropriations Ordinance for fiscal year 1978-79; and WHEREAS, the administration has abstracted certain projects proposed to be undertaken in fiscal year 1978-79 with Florida Power and Light franchise funds and included them in this proposed appropriations ordinance, as required by Sections 30 and 34 of the Miami City Charter.; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that additional work is re- quired for the completion of the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center; and WHEREAS, ends are available in the Federal. At thattime, no funds were, appropriated from the Florida Power and Light Company franchise earnings for capital projects. In addition, additional work is needed to complete the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center. This work includes completion of the existing Print Shop area in the Conference Rooms of the Center, a major entrance sign at Bayshore and Pan American Drive, demolition of the existing barracks buildings along Pan American Drive, planting of vegetation, and_the purchase of auditorium chairs and tables.
