AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT EITHER PERSONALLY OR THROUGH HIS DESIGNEE PRIVATE CONTRIBUTIONS OF MONEY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUES AND RELATED ITEMS FOR THE CUBAN MEMORIAL PLAZA AND MEMORIAL BOULEVARD PROJECT; AND FURTHER ESTABLISHING A NEW TRUST AND AGENCY FUND ENTITLED: "CUBAN MEMORIAL BOULEVARD PLAQUES," FOR THE DEPOSIT OF PRIVATE CONTRIBUTIONS SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING PLAQUES AND RELATED ITEMS FOR SAID PROJECT; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ARRANGE FOR INSTALLATION OF SUCH PLAQUES AND RELATED ITEMS WITH CITY FORCES; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City wishes to complete Cuban Memorial Plaza and Memorial Boulevard Project (SW 13th Avenue, between SW 8th and loth Streets) in Little Havana by purchasing and installing certain commemorative plaques and related items, through voluntary con- tributions; and WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $1,850 are needed to purchase O(16// these plaques and related items; and WHEREAS, it is estimated that revenues in the amount of $1,850 will be donated by citizens at large and community orga- "DOCUiv'iEllT INDEX ITEM NO WHEREAS, the City Charter expressly authorizes the City Manager to perform whatever duties may be required of him by ordinance or resolution of the City Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept, either personally or through his designated representative, contributions of money from private sources for the purpose of purchasing commemorative plaques and related items for Cuban Memorial Plaza and Memorial Boulevard.
