HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-79-0245RESOLUTION NO. 6* 7 9- 2 4 5 A RESOLUTION REVISING RESOLUTION NO. 78-46 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION ON JANUARY 24, 1978, WHICIH RESOLUTION URGED METRO- POLITAN DADE COUNTY TO EXPEDITE CONSTRUCTION OF STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI IN BOTI-i THE DECADE OF PROGRESS PROGRAM AND PROGRAMS WHICH WOULD BE INCLUDED BY THE FLORIDA STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, TO INCLUDE AS AN URGENT REQUEST BY THE CITY OF MIAMI THAT THE REBUILDING OF BISCAYNE BOULEVARD FROM NORTHEAST 55TH STREET TO THE NORTHERN CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY BE INCLUDED IN CURRENT ROAD PROGRAMS. WHEREAS, the City Commission has requested this project in several past budgets; and WHEREAS, Biscayne Boulevard in this section needs to be rebuilt as the major entrance to the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the rebuilding of this road would enhance the physical and economic development of this portion of the City; and WHEREAS, the rebuilding of this section of roadway is one part of the necessary improvements to upgrade this entire area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIOS. OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Metropolitan Dade County Commission and the State of Florida Department of Transportation be and the same are hereby requested to expedite the implementation of the re- building of Biscayne Boulevard from Northeast 55th Street to the north city limits. That the Metropolitan Dade County Commission consider this resolution as an amendment to the resolution passed and adopted by the City Commission on January 24, 1978. Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to t}Le Dade County Manager, the Metropolitan Dade County Department of Public Works, the Metropolitan Dade County Deputy Clerk for distribution to the Dade County Board of Commissioners, and to the administrative office of the State of Florida Department of Transportation.
