This agreement provided a total of $610,000 from Dade County for the 1978-79 fiscal year. Ordinance No. 8858, the Annual Appropriations Ordinance for FY'78-79, appropriated riated an amount of $500,000 for the Miami -Metro Publicity and Tourism Contract. The attached proposed ordinance appropriates the balance of $110,000 into the General Fund, Tourist Promotion, for a total of $610,000. This ordinance has been prepared for the May 22, 1979 Commission meeting. Back -round: Dade County and the City of Miami have jointly sponsored the Miami-Metro of promoting' Publicity and Tourism Department for many years for the purpose tourism in tde County. In September, 1978, the Board appropriated a total of $610,000 for, extension of the agreement from October 1, 1978 to September 30, 1979, subject to quarterly approval by the County Commission. If the County Commission approves the continuance of this agreement, then the County shall pay the City for the first and second quarters of fisca] year ' 1978-79 .
