Dan Paul, an outstanding civic leader, has recommended the firm of Hermitage Management Services Inc. (William J. The action of the City Manager in hiring Hermitage Management Services, Inc., for an amount not to exceed $10,000 plus expenses, to review the lease between the City of Miami and the developer for the operation of the hotel and portions of the City of 14iami/HniversitY of 14ilni James L. Grassie City Manager REP EIENCE8t During the Commission meeting of April 30, Mr. Dan Paul appeared raising several questions regarding legal provisions as well as business, provisions ofthe lease between the City of Miami and the developer on the Conference Center. Since the meeting members of the City's staff have met with Mr. Paul,the developer's attorney and our bond counsel. We are convinced at this time that we will be able to resolve the legal questions raised. During the discussion, Mr. Paul suggested that the City hire an expert in hotel and conference center operations to review the provisions of thelease. As a result of Mr. Paul's suggestion, a meeting was held, in the Mayor's office and. Mr. Paul introduced Mr. William J. Burns, as an expert in hotels and conference centers. The purpose of this memorandum is toproceed now to hire the firm of Heritage Management Services, Inc., William. J. Burns, President, of Cleveland, Ohio, for an amount not to exceed`:$10,000 plus expenses. A written report will be presented for your review at the May 24th meeting.
