AELD) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1 AN O 6 OF ORDINANCE NO, 8868, ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 28, 1078, THE ANNUAL APPROPRI4 T1ONS ORDINANCE POR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1979, AS AMENDED; BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAMS, IN AN AMOUNT OF $100,391; AND BY INCREASING ANTICIPATED REVENUES, SOURCES OTHER THAN AD VALOREM TAX, IN THE SAME AMOUNT; FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING DADE COUNTY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE FOR THE REMAINDER OP THE FISCAL YtAR; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERA- BILITY CLAUSE. WHERtAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8858 on September 28, 1978, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1979; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8890, January 18, 1979, establishing a Trust and Agency Fund entitled "Social Service Programs - Fiscal Year 1978-79," and appropriated thereto an amount of $552,180 for the operation of specific social service programs; and WHEREAS, said ordinance appropriated $32,004 for operation of the Dade County -After School Care through November 29, 1978; and WHEREAS, said ordinance appropriated $14,585 for operation of the Dade County - Community Schools through December 14, 1978; and WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Resolution No. 78-617 at the September 28, 1978 Commission Meeting, authorizing the City Manager to provide funds for Dade County - After School Care and Dade County Community Schools in the amount of 1/12 of their Federal Revenue Sharing allocation for FY '77-78, to continue operation until alternative funding was identified; and WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Resolution No. 78-667 at the October 24, 1978 Commission Meeting to provide Dade County - After School Care 1/12 of their Federal Revenue Sharing Allocation for FY '77-78 from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, to continue operation until alterna- tive funding was identified; and WHEREAS. the City Commission passed Resolution No. 78-668 at the October 24, 1978 Commission Meeting, to provide funds for Dade County Community Schools on 0 month -to -month basis in a pre,rata amount of the ,Agencyt§ Federal venue Shar ng allocatibn for PI' /WO from Special Pre. grams and Account, Contingent Fund, thereby enabling said program to continue operation§ through December 14, 1078; and WHEREAS, Ordinante No. 8016 (Amendment 12 to Ordinance No. 88S8), adopted March 22, 1979, appropriated $62,174 for Dade County After School Care from November 201 1978 through March 9, 1979, and $16,613 for Dade County - Community Schools for the period of December 15, 1978 through March 9, 1979; and WHEREAS, Motion 79-168, adopted March 8, 10705 authorised the con- tinued funding of the Dade County Community School and After School Care Pro- grams for a period of forty-five (45) working days from March 12, 1070; and WHEREAS, said Motion would require the amount of $12,116 for Dade County Community Schools and $33,234 for the After School Care Program to con- tinue these programs for the aforementioned period; and WHEREAS, Amendment No. 13 to Ordinance No. 8858 provides for the appropriation of $45,350 from increased anticipated Gas Franchise Tax revenues for the purpose specified in Motion 79-168; and WHEREAS, funds are now required in the amount of $26,786 for Dade County Community Schools and $73,605 for the After School Care Program to continue these programs for the period beginning March 13, 1979 through the remainder of the fiscal year; and WHEREAS, said amounts will increase the total appropriations for Dade County - Community Schools to $70,000 and After School Care to $192,017; and WHEREAS, increased anticipated miscellaneous revenues can be appro- priated into the General Fund, Special Programs and Accounts, for fiscal year 1978-79 Social Service Programs to fund the aforementioned programs for the remainder of the fiscal year; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1, Sections 1 and 6 of Ordinance No. 8858, adopted Septem- ber 28, 1978, as amended, are hereby further amended in the following particu- lars: s 4wwwwwirp wwwwww ;me wwwwwwww WWVWWW if Words and or fivires stricken through shall be deleted.
