Appointment of Members to Environmental Preservation Review Board REFERENCES:' c`ICLOSUFkE-S It is necessary for the City Commission, to appoint members;to theEnvironmental Preservation Review Board since the terms of all seven members of. the Board expired on February 28, 1978. When notified of this expiration, six of the members, Henry C. Alexander, Jr., David M. Scully, Mrs. Julia, Fernandez, Anthony Lavargna, Stephen N. Zack and Stephen. Davis stated that they wish to remain on the Board. The seventh member, Mrs. Kathy Coley cannot continue as a Board member due to health problems. Therefore, it is necessary to appoint one new member to replace her. Since Mrs. Cole's position was as a lay citizen, her replacement must be selected from lists prepared by neighborhood� organizations. Notices of this vacancy have been sent out to neighborhood organizations (see attached sample letter). Itis � anticipated that the list will be ready for. the? City Commissions review and selection be early September. In the meantime, it is requested that you initiate proceeding for the Board appointments. While < theCommission -has theoption of appointing seven new members, it is recommended that the six members who wish to remain onthe Board be reappointed and that one new member be appointed to the Board. All of the current members have been notified of the expiration of their terms and. they have agreed to remain on the Board until they are reappointed or '.until'; their replacements are appointed.
