It is necessary for the City Commission, to appoint members;to
theEnvironmental Preservation Review Board since the terms
of all seven members of. the Board expired on February 28, 1978.
When notified of this expiration, six of the members, Henry C.
Alexander, Jr., David M. Scully, Mrs. Julia, Fernandez, Anthony
Lavargna, Stephen N. Zack and Stephen. Davis stated that they
wish to remain on the Board. The seventh member, Mrs. Kathy
Coley cannot continue as a Board member due to health problems.
Therefore, it is necessary to appoint one new member to replace
her. Since Mrs. Cole's position was as a lay citizen, her
replacement must be selected from lists prepared by neighborhood
organizations. Notices of this vacancy have been sent out to
neighborhood organizations (see attached sample letter). Itis

anticipated that the list will be ready for. the? City Commissions
review and selection be early September.
In the meantime, it is requested that you initiate proceeding for
the Board appointments. While < theCommission -has theoption of
appointing seven new members, it is recommended that the six
members who wish to remain onthe Board be reappointed and that
one new member be appointed to the Board. All of the current
members have been notified of the expiration of their terms and.
they have agreed to remain on the Board until they are reappointed
or '.until'; their replacements are appointed.
