CM READERS AND SMITH AND 'WESSON HANDGUNS; INCREASING
ANTICIPATED REVENUES, SOURCESOTHER THAN:AD VALOREM -TAX,
IN THE SAME'AMOUNT FROM 'THE SALE OF CONFISCATED HANDGUNS;
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERAGILITY.CLAUSE,
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No, 8858 on September
28, 1978, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami,
Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 197; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 79-313, adopted April 30, 1979 authorized
acceptance of the March 20, 1979 bid of Tamiami Distributors for the sale of
300 guns confiscated by the Department of Police at a total price of
$240390.00; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department has requested the use of the proceeds
from the sale of said handguns to purchase three (3) microfilm readers and
Smith and Wesson handguns; and
WHEREAS, the amount of $24,390 from the sale of said handguns can be
appropriated into the General Fund, Police Department, for the purpose of
purchasing the aforementioned items;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Sections 1 and 6 of Ordinance No. 8858, adopted Septem-
ber 28, 1978, as amended, are hereby further amended in the following parti-
culars;
"Section 1. The following appropriations are made for
municipal operations of the City of Miami, Florida for the
fiscal year 1978-79, including the payment of principal and
interest on all General Obligation Bonds,

and/or figures constitute the amendment proposed, The remaining provi.
sins are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted
and unchanged material, All figures 4re rounded to the next dollar.

Section 2. The amount of $24,390 from the sale of 300
hand guns is hereby appropriated to provide for the purchase
of 3 microfilm readers, with the remaining balance to be, utilized
for the purchase of handguns,
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as
they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions ofthis
ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause,
phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining
provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.

Section d. The requirement of reading this Ordinance on two
separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than four -fifths
of the members of the Commission.
