Resolution Re Air Rights
Over. S.E. 4th Street at
Downtown Convention Center
•,ctJRE5;
For Commission Meeting
of July 23, 1979):
The Department of Public Works recommends
the adoption of the resolution directing
the City Manager to reserve air -rights
over S.E. 4th Street to provide a pedestrian
structure to link the Downtown Convention
Center and the World. Trade Center.
The Downtown Convention Center site is being platted as a part of
the legal actions required to relocate N.E. 4th Street to better;.
serve the public and the Convention Center. It is necessary to
provide a pedestrian link between the Convention Center and the
World Trade Center across the relocated N.E. 4th Street.
This pedestrian link can best be provided by an enclosed struc-
ture vertically separated from the vehicular traffic on N.E. 4th
Street.
To provide for this pedestrian structure the air -rights .over N.E.
4th Street, as it will berelocated on the proposed plat of
"MIAMI CENTER", should be reserved by incorporating appropriate
wording on the plat that is being prepared.

The Agreement is written in a way that the City can have R. Duell and
Associates perform services in phases and may terminate the Agreement

undertaken immediately. This would be the first item of work authorized
