A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF C. D. NICOLAS FOR THE SALE OF 253 CONFISCATED AND
SURPLUS GUNS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE AT A TOTAL PRICE OF $15,559.50.

WHEREAS, fourteen invitations were mailed and seven bids were received; and

WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department ofrecommend

bid received fromC. D. Nicolas be accepted as the most,. advantageous bid tO. the
city;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OFTHE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:

Section 1. The June 20, 1979 bid of C. D. Nicolas for the sale of, 253
confiscated and surplus guns for the Department of Police at a total price of
$15,559.50 is hereby accepted. ,
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of July 1979.

The intent of the bid, was to sell the guns or trade them for new hand guns to be
used by the Police Department.
The surplus guns included in the sale were used by police officers for many years
and are beyond economical repair.
None of the bidders offered to trade new hand guns.
It is recommended that the award bemade and a resolution be passed accepting the
most advantageous bid as received from C. D. Nicolas for the sale of 253 confiscated
and surplus guns at a total price of $15",559.'50.
