A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING NOVEMBER
20, 1979, AS THE DATE FOR THE PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE PORT OF MIAMI APPLICA-
TION FOR DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL FOR A
DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL IMPACT.
WHEREAS, Chapter 380.06 Florida Statutes requires
a local government to give notice and hold a public
hearing on an Application for Development Approval for

a Development of Regional Impact prior to issuing a
Development Order; and
WHEREAS, the South Florida Regional Planning Council
has forwarded a letter to the City of Miami stating that
the Port of Miami Application for Development Approval
contains sufficient information for their review; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 380.06 Florida Statutes requires the
local government to set a public hearing at its next
scheduled meeting after the receipt of such letter; and
WHEREAS, any date certain after November 13, 1979
would suffice to meet the advertising requireinent;

• It is requested that the Commission establish
November 20, 1979 as the date of the Develop-
ment of Regional Impact public hearing for the
Port of Miami per the attached Resolution.
Per Chapter 380.06 F.S., local government is required to give
public notice 60 days in advance of a required public hearing
on an Application for Development Approval of a DeveloPment
of Regional Impact.
By letter of July 31, 1979 (attached) the South Florida
Regional Planning Council stated that the Port of Miami
Application for Development Approval contained sufficient
information for their review and would be tentatively sched-
uled on the Council agenda of September 10, 1979. Further,
the ltter stated that the Development of Regional.Impact
public hearing must be set at the next scheduled meeting of
the Commission and advertised at least 60 days in advance of
the hearing, per Chapter 380.06 F.S.
It is requested that the Commission consider the setting of the
hearing date at their meeting of September 13, 1979 and establish
November 20, 1979 as the Development of Regional Impact •Public
hearing date for the Port of Miami project. :Further,if the
Commission wishes to consider other alternatives, any date cer-
tain after Tuesday, November 13, 1979 would suffice assuming
public advertisement on September 15, 1979.
This memorandum supersedes the previous memoranda of August 14
and 29, 1979 on the same subject.

This letter is togive written notice that the Port of Miami Application
for Development Approval contains sufficient information for regional
impact review.
A Development of, Regional Impact public hearing as required by Chapter
380.06 (7), Florida Statutes amended must be set at your next scheduled
meeting and advertising at least sixty..(60).: days, in advance of the hear-
ing. The law also requires that the notice of Public hearing be trans-
mitted to the Division of Local Resource Management and the South
Florida Regional Planning Council. Receipt of this notice will officially
commence our fifty day review Period. At this time, the South Florida
Regional Planning Council staff:repor-t and recommendations are tentatively
scheduled to be presented for official actionat the regular Council
meeting on September 10, 1979.
