Rates increases for Municipal Auditorium and Coconut Grove Exhibition Center ERENCfiS:. Proposed Ordinance (2) Comparison Tables It is recommended that an Ordinance be adopted which .would enable the Department of Stadiums and Marinas to charge a nonrefundable reservation fee equal to 10% of the basic rental fee for perspective users of city -owned auditoriums, and that the Dinner Key Recreation Center/Exhibition Hall be identified as the "Coconut Grove Exhibition Center, and further that rental rates be increases for the Municipal Auditorium as well as certain areas of the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center. Moreover, the establishment of move-in/move-out fees for lessees Who exceed specified move-in/move-out time requirements and the establishment of labor charges for the set up of tables, chairs, and portables stages, per the attached Ordinance. With spiraling inflation, large fixed operation costs, and deficits in excess of a third of million dollars for Fiscal Year 1978-1979, for the Municipal Auditorium and the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center, it is imperative that these rate increases by approved in order to reduce the deficits and assist in making these facilities self-supporting.
