AND DISCONTINUING THE PUBLIC USE OF THAT
PORTION OF NAOMI STREET SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERLY
RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF RUTH STREET FOR A DISTANCE
OF +137', AS PER TENTATIVE PLAT NO. 1060 -
"ARBORETUM".
WHEREAS, the Miami Zoning Board at its meeting of
September 17,
1979, Item No. 4(a), following an advertised
vote (2
adopted Resolution No. ZB 189-79 by a 6
absent) recommending the official vacation and closure of that

APPROVAL. The portion of. Naomi Street which
iss proposed to be closed is a 135' dead-end
strip. It does not serve any properties and
has never been improved. Since it is a super-
fluous piece of right-of-way, its closure will
not adversely affect the general public and
will, in fact, be for the public good. The
closure will enable the properties on each side of
an unused piece of right-of-way to be developed
as one residential property.
APPROVAL IN ACCORD W'WITH THE PLANS ON FILE.
— The existing platting of this site
would enable single family and duplex
development on this site up to a maximum of
22 units. The proposed PUN offers a much
better development solution, one which
optimizes space. Instead of just providing the
required setbacks, the yard spaces become
functional areas which either serve the adjacent
units or which are clearly defined as common
open space. Vehicular traffic is channeled
into a central drive which has only two
entrances onto the street thereby minimizing the
impact on adjacent properties. This PUN has
been designed around the major trees in order
to preserve them.
