SUB NO. 1 (100-29) Tract A
Consideration of recommending permission
to develop an open parking lot on above
site, as an accessory use to the Univer-
sity of Miami Jackson Memorial Medical
Center, per Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
6871, ARTICLE IV GENERAL PROVISIONS,;:
Section 36 Zoned R-4 MEDIUM DENSITY MULTIPLE
DWELLING, per plans on file.
To permit a surface parking lot, as an
accessory use, within the Medical Center
ARTICLE IV, Section 36(2).allow hospitals (and
related uses) to be established within zoning
districts, from which they would be otherwise
excluded, upon the recommendation of the
Planning Advisory Board and approval of the
City Commission.
The surface parking lot, proposed for Tract A
would provide 194 parking spaces for the use
of staff of the Medical Center. NW 9th Avenue,
on the west side of the lot is proposed as a
peripheral roadway (70'ROW) which would provide
good access to the lot. Former NW 8th Court
was closed through the site in 1973. The
John Elliott Blood Bank lies immediately to
the south. Zoning in the immediate area is
R-4 except for a small portion of C-1 zoning
across NW 9th Avenue.
This use is viewed as interim for a 5-10 year
period, following which it is planned to develop
Tract A for a student/staff support and rec-
reational facility.
