A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING $10,000 OF COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FROM 5TH YEAR FEDERAL
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND TO
ALLAPATTAH COMMUNITY ACTION, INC. FOR ITS.
ELDERLY SERVICES COMPONENT FOR THE CONTRACT
PERIOD COMMENCING UPON THE RELEASE OF FUNDS
FOR THIS PROJECT BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1980;
AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH SAID AGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Allapattah Community Action, Inc. Elderly Service Component
is an eligible project under Community Development; and
WHEREAS, the•Allapattah Advisory Board recommended this project at their
September 18 meeting;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA.
Section I. $10,000 of the 5th Year Community Development Block Grant
is hereby allocated to Allapattah Community Action, Inc. for its Elderly
Service Component. "DOCUMENT INDEX
ITEM NO.
Section II. The City Manager is hereby authorize to enter into
agreement with said social service agency for implementation of its program
for the period commencing upon the release of funds for this project by the
Department of Housing and Urban Development and ending June 30, 1980.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 31st day of October 1979.

It is hereby recommended that $10,000 of
5th Year Community Development Block Grant
Funds be allocated to elderly services.
At the meeting of September 18, 1979,.the Allapattah Community Development.
Advisory Board approved the reallocation of these funds from Allapattah
Crime Prevention to Elderly Services. It is anticipated that these funds
will be used to partially provide services at the Allapattah Neighborhood.
Center for the elderly. by Allapattah Community Action, Inc.
It is recommended that the City Commission authorize the City Manager to
enter into the necessary agreements to implement this project.
