CORPORATION FOR THE COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT (2ND BIDDING) BID "C" (DRAINAGE) AT A TOTAL COST OF $92,167.43; AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT IN THE NET AMOUNT OF $3,403.29; AND AUTHORZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $14,935.97 WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated November 1, 1978 between the City of Miami and P.N.M. Corporation; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily com- pleted, and P.N.M. Corporation has furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, there were additional expenses incurred because of the unforeseen deteriorated condition of some drainage structures and replacement and reconnection of deteriorated sanitary sewer laterals, which resulted in an increase in the contract; and WHEREAS, sufficient money to fund the increase in. contract is available from funds already allocated to the project; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Public Works recommend the increase of $3,403.29 to cover the increase in the contract; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION "DOCUMENT INDEX /_1.....�,. Corporation for COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT (2ND BIDDING) - BID "C" (Drainage) is hereby accepted at a total cost of $92,167.43. CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF OCT 31 1919 ioumoN Z.9 - 7 4 1 Section 2. The project contract is hereby increased in the net amount of $3,403.29 from previously allocated funds. Section 3. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay P.N.M. Corporation a balance of $14,935.97 as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with the aforesaid contract. Commission Meeting of October 30, 1979) The Department of Public Works recommends the adoption of a resolution authorizing an increase in the contract in the net amount of $3,403.29 for the COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT (2ND BIDDING) - BID "C" (Drainage); accepting the completed work performed by P.N.M. Corporation at a total cost of $92,167.43; and authorizing a final payment of $14,935.97. P.N.M. Corporation has completed the project consisting ;. of modifying and adding to the drainage system in the area located on Main Highway between McFarlane Road and Franklin Avenue; Grand Avenue between Mary Street and McDonald Street; Commodore Plaza between Grand Avenue and Main Highway; Fuller Street between Grand Avenue and Main Highway.. Because of the unforeseen deteriorated condition of some drainage structures and replacement and reconnection of deteriorated sanitary sewer laterals, additional expenses were incurred. This extra work resulted in an overrun to the contract amount. This was a unit price contract in the amount of $88,764.14, but the completed contract amount is plus $3,403.29 for the increase.
