RE: proposed Coral Sanitary Sewer c .:
Improvement District SR 5463-0
Dear Mr. Ca.ther and CITY COMMISSIONERS.
Since I can't attend the hearing on.
November 8th as I have to be at work,,I
would li_te to voice my feeling's on this
project and vote an emrhatic "NO"!
I can't believe the absurd'timing of
such a project. 29 years after .,e:have
lived in Coral .Gate, the City Commission NbW
is going to give us, the property' owners,
the "opportunity" to 'pay cash fo•r, th, s..or over a
Period of 10 years with interest. We're
fighting inflation, we're fighting basic
every day living expenses which have
tripled, Were, many: of us after 29 years
thankful to have our home:.. raid for be
cause many of us are wido;;s, divorced,
alone, : retired, _eve. limited incomes•,
and along ;rith the ever increasing multi-
tude of daily expenses -- after 29 years --
find that their homes may no.. need new
roofs, etc. which are -absolute necessities.
We don't need an additional estimated
$1,iuo.00 bill thrown at us and another 10
years of indebtedness plus -- and':-* there
was no mention made of the feet -- ire will
have the added imresi.te exiense of drain-
ing and closing our septic tanks and for
the pipe line -- hundreds of dollnrs to a
plumber.-- plus a doubled water, bill --
plus -- ', ho knows when the tax assessor de
cides We have "improved our property and
adds some more to our tax bill!

What a development to throw at residents who
would like to, feel they have some control over
their own expenditures and their own property
improvements if and when we can afford it.
I think it is incredible -- after 29 years -
to decide to do this at this time with the
high cost of living being the subject on every-
one's mind these days. This is a political
football these drys -- who is going to give
tneir constituents that pie -in -the sky relief
from inflation, in•.:re tsed taxes, etc.,etc.,etc
but our City Commission muEt lay awake at night
thinking of ,,ays to give it to us good old Dade
Countians ;- whether 4e can afford it or not.
It is so typical -- Coral Gate home owners
pleaded and begged for years for a traffic light
so their children could safely cross'Dougl^s
Road to go to sclnool. We finally got the light --
after our children were in college! Miamipolitics--
I vote "NO"! We have other
this time.
Sincerely
',49/L"
