FOR FURNISHING AIR CONDITIONING MAINTENANCE AT THE MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT; ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE YEAR; FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE; AT A TOTAL COST OF $26,964.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE 1979-80 OPERATING BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE ORDER. FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received October 9, 1979 for the furnishing of air conditioning maintenance at the Miami Police Department on a contract basis for one year, for the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 18 potential suppliers and 4 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1979-80 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the purpose of preventive maintenance and service of the air conditioning equipment; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bid received from Wethertrol Maintenance Corp. be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF Tr ITY F I , FLORIDA: ITEM N0. ..D n Section1. The contractor will furnish all the necessary labor, filters, parts, and supplies required to perform preventive maintenance and service on all the air conditioning equipment at the Police. Department Building at 400 NW 2 Ave. The present contractor is the low bidder. It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received from Weathertrol Maintenance, Corp. for furnishing air conditioning maintenance on a contract basis for one year at a total cost of $26,964.00. The preventive maintenance contract will be renewable upon agreement of both parties. The contract price for succeeding years may be adjusted (increased or decreased) according to changes in the "Wholesale Commodity Price Index" for metals and metal products, published by the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Statistics, and any change in "straight time hourly labor costs" paid to service journeymen. RECOMMENDATION: IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE AWARD BE MADE TO WEATHERTROL MAINTENANCE, CORP. The Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance concurs. 79-758
