Waiving of Competitive
Bidding -Maintenance of
Security System -Department
of Police
Resolution, copy of agreement
The City has a contractual agreement dated June 25,
1976 with the Wackenhut Electronic Systems Corporation'
for maintenance of the Miami Police Department sec-
urity system.
Restrictions in the agreement require the City to
hold in confidence Wackenhuts design, specifications,
and associated documentation, of the Computer Appli-
cation Software System, thereby precluding competi-
tive bidding.
Accordingly, it is recommended that a resolution be
passed waiving competitive bidding and accepting the
bid of Wackenhut Electronics Systems Corporation for
furnishing the maintenance of the security system
at the Miami Police Department for one year at a total
cost of. $11,760:00.
The Department of Police concurs with this recommenda
tion.
