A COST OF„$634.80; HECTOR TURF & GARDEN AT A COST OF $3,398.64;
AND PENINSULAR SUPPLY CO. AT A COST OF $3,686.77 FOR FURNISHING
IRRIGATION MATERIALS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS; AT A TOTAL
COST OF $7,720.21; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE TRUST AND AGENCY
FUND -GRAND AVENUE PARK IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE.
CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE
ORDERS FOR THESE MATERIALS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received
of Parks for.
the purpose of installing an irrigation system at Grand Avenue Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks recommend that
the bids received from Boynton Pump. and Supply, Hector Turf and Garden,
and Peninsular Supply Co. be accepted as the most advantageous bids to
the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OFTHE CITY OF C v

Section 1. The October 23, 1979 bids of. Boynton Pump, and Supply
at a cost of $634.80, Hector Turf and Garden at a cost of $3,398.64, and
Peninsular Supply Co. at a cost of $3.686.77 for furnishing irrigation
materials to the Department of Parks at a total cost of $7,720.21 are
hereby accepted with funds hereby allocated from the Trust and Agency
Fund -Grand Avenue Park Improvement Program.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized
to instruct
the Purchasing Agent to issue the Purchase Orders for these materials.

Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received October 23, 1979 for
furnishing Irrigation Materials for the Department of Parks.
Invitations were mailed to 18 potential suppliers and 7 bids were received,
a tabulation of the bids is attached.
Funds for this purchase are available in the Trust and Agency Fund -Grand
Avenue Park Improvement Program. The materials will be used in the installa
tion of an irrigation system as a part of the park development.
It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting
the most advantageous bids as received from Boynton Pump and Supply Co: at a cost
of $634.80; Hector Turf and Garden at a cost of $3,398.64; and Peninsular
Supply Co. at a cost of $3,686.77 for furnishing irrigation materials at a
total coat of $7,720.21.
The Department of Parks concurs with this recommendation.

BID EVALUATION:
All bids meet the Specifications. As indicated on the
attached bid tabulation, Items No. 1,2,3,4,7,9, & 39 are equal
bids from Boynton Pump of Ft. Lauderdale and Hector Turf and
Garden of Miami. The General Information to Bidders section
of the specifications indicates that preference will be given
to thoseitems manufactured, produced, or sold in the City of
Miami, provided said items and services are comparable in
price and quantity, etc. Accordingly, the bid of Hector Turf
and Garden is recommended for those items. The lowest bid -is,
recommended for all other items.
RECOMMENDATION:. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE AWARD BE MADE TO,BOYNTON PUMP AND,
SUPPLY, HECTOR TURF AND GARDEN, AND PENINSULAR SUPPLY CO..
