FDLLOW" WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received November 29, 1979 for the furnishing of Building Demolition Service for the Department of Building and Zoning Inspections; and WHEREAS,invitations were mailed to 15 potential suppliers and 3 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 5th year Community Development -City Wide Building Demolition Fund, and, WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of Building and Zoning Inspections for the purpose of demolishing unsafe and condemned structures in compliance with the South Florida Building Code; and, WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Building and Zoning Inspections recommend that the bid received from. Juelle Brothers be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF T "COCUMEt� CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: ITEM NO. Section 1. No. 79-80-9: Building Demolition Award of Bid, Resolution, Tabulations of Bids Pursuant to public notice, sealed beds were received November 29, 1979 for furnishing Building Demolition for the Department of Building and Zoning Inspections. Invitations were mailed to fifteen potential suppliers and three bids were received as per the attached tabulation. Funds for this purchase are available in the 5th year Community Development -City Wide Building Demolition Fund. The buildings to be demolished have been condemned as unsafe and processed in accordance with Section 202-Unsafe Structures of the South Florida Building Code. Recovery of the costs is subject to the normal demolition lien procedures. It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received from Juelle Brothers for furnsihing demoliton of unsafe buildings at -a total cost of $19,237.00. The Department of .Building and Zoning Inspections concurs with this recommendation. The bid of Ben Hurwitz, Inc. was the lowest on one project. The bid of Cuyahoga Wrecking Corp. was also the lowest on one project. The bid of Juelle Brothers was lowest on 3 of the projects. Juelle Brothers also offered a discount of 11% if awarded all projects, thereby producing a cost savings of $1,154.00 as detailed in the Tabulation of Bids.
