HOSE DRYING TOWERS
(2ND, BIDDING) - Resolution
for Increase in Contract
and Final Payment
B-2741
(For Commission Meeting
of December 27, 1979)
The Department of Public Works recommends
the adoption of the resolution authorizing
an increase in the contract in the amount
of_$1,800.00 for the HOSE DRYING TOWERS
(2ND BIDDING), accepting the completed
work performed by M.E.T. Construction, Inc.
at a total cost of $23,249.00, and author-
izing a final payment of $7,099.04.
M.E.T. Construction, Inc. has completed the project con-
sisting of constructing a new.hose drying tower at Fire
Station No. 11, located at 5920 West Flagler Street, and
relocating an existing tower to Fire Station No. 12,
located at 1455 N. W. 46 Street. During the course of
the work it was determined that additional bracing for
the towers would be required resulting in 22 days extra
work. New lower price was negotiated with the contractor
for performing the painting work, and it was subsequently
included in the work. Sufficient funds are available in
the Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention,. and Rescue Facilities
G.O. Bond Fund. ` This was a lump ; sum contract in the
amount of $21,449.00, but the 'completed contract amount
is plus $1,800.00 for the increase.
It is now in order for the Commission to accept the
completed work and authorize final payment, after all
conditions are met.
