HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09038LCD/s1m 12/12/79 2aH AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO ORDINANCE NO. 9000 ORDINANCE NO. 9038 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2 AND 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 9000, ADOPTED OCTOBER 17, 1979, THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEM-MBER 30, 1980, AS AMENDED; BY APPROPRIATING FROM THE BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT, RETAINED EARNINGS, AN AMOUNT OF $100,401 FROM THE MOTOR POOL MAINTENANCE DIVISION AND AN AMOUNT OF $822,899 FROM HEAVY EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE DIVISION FOR A TOTAL OF $923,300 TO BE APPROPRIATED INTO THE MOTOR POOL MAINTENANCE DIVISION FOR THE PURPOSE OF MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9000 on October 17, 1979, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1980; and WHEREAS, monies budgeted for the Building and Vehicle Maintenance Department, Machinery and Equipment Replacement, in 1978-79 were not expended; and WHEREAS, funds are required by the Building and Vehicle Maintenance Department for said purchases in 1979-80; and WHEREAS, Retained Earnings in the amount of $100,401 from the Motor Pool Maintenance Division and $822,899 from. the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Division for a total of $923,300 are available to be appropriated into the Motor Pool Maintenance Division for the aforementioned purchases; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Sections 2 and 5 of Ordinance No. 9000, adopted October 17, 1979, the Annual Appropriations Ordinance for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1980, are hereby amended in the following particulars:1/ "Section 2. The following activities, which are carried on for the service and convenience of other funds, shall be operat- ed by the City Manager within the limits of the appropriations provided in the foregoing Departments, Boards, Offices, and accounts of the City of Miami and other revenues or receipts which may be received: INTRAGOVERNMENTAL SERVICE FUNDS * * * * Appropriation Motor Pool Maintenance $2T4691688 $ 3,383,880 * * * * * * * * TOTAL INTRAGOVERNMENTAL SERVICE FUNDS $90;6s871 $10, 300,171 * * Section 5. The amount of $923,300 from the Building and Vehicle Maintenance Department -Retained Earnings, consisting of $100,401 from the Motor Pool Maintenance Division and $822,899 from the Heavy Equipment Main- tenance Division, is hereby appropriated into the Motor Pool Maintenance Division for the purpose of Machinery and Equipment Replacement. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provi- sions of this ordinance shall not be affected. Section 5. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission. Vehicle Maintenance: Machinery and Equipment Replacement 1979 The Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance has requested an appropriation of $923,300 for Motor Pool Maintenance Division, Machinery and Equipment Replacement, for the purchase of light equipment during the current fiscal year. Funds were budgeted for this purpose in 1978-79: but were not spent. Per the attached analysis from the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance, total available retained earnings as of 9/30/79 were $1,961,731. 0f this amount, $638,431 is required to fund FY '79-80 budget deficits and fleet equipment purchases.
