HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09036LD/slm 12/10/79 2A/G AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO ORDINANCE NO. 9000 ORDINANCE NO. 9036 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1 AND 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 9000, ADOPTED OCTOBER 17, 1979, THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1980, AS AMENDED; BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,508; INCREASING ANTICIPATED MISCELLANEOUS GENERAL FUND REVENUES IN THE SAME AMOUNT; FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND THE STATE ATTORNEY FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO A SPECIAL INVESTIGATION; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVI- SION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENS- ING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COM•1MISSION. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9000 on October 17, 1979, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1980; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Police Department in conjunction with the State Attorney's Office, conducted a major drug investigation in the City of Miami for the period beginning April 5, 1978 and ending May 1, 1979; and WHEREAS, expenses totaling $12,508 were incurred by the Special Inves- tigation Section during the period of the investigation; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida and the State Attorney's Office agreed to reimburse the City of Miami for said expenses; and WHEREAS, two (2) checks totaling $12,508 have been received from the State of Florida and the State Attorney's Office as reimbursement for the aforementioned expenses; and WHEREAS, the amount of $12,508 can be appropriated into the General Fund, Police Department, as reimbursement for the aforementioned expenses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Sections 1 and 5 of Ordinance No. 9000, adopted October 17, 1979, the Annual Appropriations Ordinance for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 1980, are hereby amended in the following particulars:i/ "Section 1. The amount of $12,508 from the State of Florida and the State Attorney is appropriated herein to reimburse the Police Department for certain expenses incurred in the course of a special investigation. Antici- pated revenues are increased accordingly. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provi- sions of this ordinance shall not be affected. Section 5. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two sepa- rate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission. Surana',7) Acting Director, Department of Manag4ment and Budget December 13, 1979 Amendment No.- 3 to Ordinance 9000 Increase of Police Appropriation Resulting from State Reimbursement of Special `�' InvestigatiVe Funds The City of Miami Police Department, in conjunction with the Florida State Attorney's Office, conducted a major drug investigation in the City of. Miami. During the course of this investigation the Special Investigation Section incurred certain expenses for which the State of Florida and the. State Attorney's Office agreed to reimburse the City. The reimbursement has been received in the form of two checks totaling $12,508.
