Proposed lease of Marine
Stadium by private enterprise
"c Draft resolution
The City administration has received a very serious expression
of interest from a Miami corporation having an interest in the
poss'biiity,of taking over the operation of the Miami Marine
Stadium from the City. It would be their general intent to
create a Water -oriented recreational facility at that site,
utilizing the existing facilities and adding water -oriented
attractions of both an active and'passive nature.
Since the City presently has no basis for establishing the
terms of agreement for such a proposal, this Department
recommends that the City Commission at this time authorize
the City Manager to proceed in accordance with the provisions.
of Resolution No. 79-55.8, and the subsequent public passage
of Charter Amendment No. 1'to acquire the required two inde
pendent appraisals, and'to further prepare a Request for
Proposals for review by the .City Commission.
In implementation of this recommendation-, the attached
Resolution has been prepared for City Commission adoption.
