AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 9000, ADOPTED OCTOBER 17, 1979, THE ANNUAL
APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1980, AS AMENDED, BY APPRO-
PRIATING FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS -
SEVERANCE PAY ACCOUNT AN AMOUNT OF $145,279 TO
BE APPROPRIATED INTO THE OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER
OFFICE OF PUBLICITY AND PUBLIC INFORMATION FOR
THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING TOURISM AND PROMOTION
ACTIVITIES FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI UNTIL THE END
OF FY '80; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE
REQUIREMENT OF READING THE SAME ON TWO SEPARATE
DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF
THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9000
on October 17, 1979, establishing revenues and appropria-
tions for the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year
ending September 30, 1980; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance includes an amount of $154,721
for the Office of the City Manager to fund the Office of
Publicity and Public Information, a newly created division
as a result of the reorganization of the Department of
Tourist Promotion; and
WHEREAS, it has now been determined that the require-
ment for the Office of the City Manager Office of Publicity
and Public Information is $300,000 in order for this office
to continue tourist and promotional activities until the end
of FY'80; and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $145,279 are
required for the Office of Publicity and Public Information;
and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds to provide said additional
requirement of $145,279 for the Office of Publicity and
Public Information have been identified in Special Programs
and Accounts Severance Pay Account;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9000, adopted October
17, 1979, the Annual Appropriations .Ordinance for the Fiscal Year ending
September 30, 1980, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following
particulars: 1/
"Section 1. The following appropriations are
made for the municipal operations of the City
of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year
1979-80, including the payment of principal
and interest on all General Obligation Bonds:

Section 2. The herein reduction of $145,279 in the appropriation
for Special Programs and Accounts - Severance Pay Account and a corresponding
increase in the appropriation for Office of the City Manager - Office of
Publicity and Public Information will permit the Office to continue
tourist and promotional activities until the end of FY'80.

A prior amendatory ordinance (No. 9055 , adopted January 10, 1980),
immediately preceding the herein ordinance, erroneously listed this figure
as $6,012,760.

Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they
are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause,
phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining
provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 5. The requirement of reading this ordinance on
two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less
than four -fifths of the members of this Commission.
