HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09055/3 LD/cdl 12/21/79 AMENDMENT NO. 5 TO ORDINANCE NO. 9000 ORDINANCE NO. 9 0 5 5 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 9000, ADOPTED OCTOBER 17, 1979, THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1980, AS AMENDED; BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR BY $32,411; INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS BY $48,607; DECREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, SEVERANCE PAY ACCOUNT, BY $81,018; FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCREASING THE FY'80 APPROPRIATION FOR SAID DEPARTMENTS; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9000 on October 17, 1979, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1980; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Motion 79-821 on November 26, 1979, designating Marie Petit to serve as Special Assistant to the City Manager assigned to Mayor Maurice Ferre's Office; and WHEREAS, as a result of said action it is proposed to increase the salary of Marie Petit by an amount of $5,714; and WHEREAS, it is further proposed to abolish one (1) position of Administrative Assistant I in the Office of the Mayor at an annual salary of $18,770, replacing same with two (2) Administrative Aide I positions at an annual salary of $12,000 each, plus the addition of one (1) Receptionist position at $9,000 annually; and WHEREAS, it is proposed to increase the operating expenses by $4,585 to enable the Office of the Mayor to perform its functions as the official ceremonial body of the City; and WHEREAS, the aforementioned actions will result in a net increase of $32,411 for the Office of the Mayor's Fiscal Year 1980 budget; and WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the Personal Services appropriation for each member of the Board of Commissioners be standardized at $30,000 annually; and WHEREAS, the additional cost of the aforementioned action will amount to an increase of $48,607 in the fiscal year 1980 budget for the Board of Commissioners; WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $81,018 have been identified in Special Programs and Accounts, Severance Pay Account, and are available to fund said requirements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9000, adopted October 17, 1979, the Annual Appropriations Ordinance for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 1980, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars: 1/ "Section 1. The following appropriations are made for the municipal operations of the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year 1979-80, including the payment of principal and interest on all General Obligation Bonds: Departments, Boards, and Offices Appropriation GENERAL FUND Mayor }}g3492 $151,003 Board of Commissioners 169;3n 208,977 * * * * * * * * Special Programs and Accounts 6093.078 6,012,760 * * * * * * *" Section 2. The herein transfer of $81,018 from Special Programs and Accounts, Severance Pay Account, is made for the purpose of increasing the FY'80 budgets for the Office of the Mayor by $32,411 and the Board of Commissioners by $48,607. 1/ Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted.
