sUOJEGT: Resolution Increasing C.D.;Allocation
to Wynwood Elderly Services, Inc.
AEFERENCE9: Proposed Resolution Amending
Resolution No. 79-430
ENCLOSURES:
It is recommended that the C.D. allocation for
fiscal 1979-80 for the Wynwood Elderly Services
Program be increased by $3,000 due to the loss
of essential equipment due to robberies. To be
granted this one time increase only and not to
affect future allocations, if any, to this
agency, per this Resolution.
The Wynwood Elderly Services, Inc. provides recreation, meals, education,
transportation, and support services to elderly and/or handicapped residents
who live within the Wynwood target area. However, due to several breq-ins
at the premises, this agency has lost equipment and supplies essential to
its daily operation.
This program has received a very favorable recommendation from staff and,
since these expenses were unanticipated, covering them with the original
allocation, will be impossible. This agency was originally allocated
$80,937 by Resolution No. 79-430 passed and adopted June 25, 1979, which
allocated funds appropriated by Ordinance No. 8943, which established the
5th Year Community Development Block Grant Fund of $10,726,000.
Since funds are available through this source, it is recommended that
Resolution No. 79-430 be amended by the attached Resolution and thereby pro-
vide the Wynwood elderly Center with the additional $3000 they need to re-
place the equipment.
