PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 11TH DAY OF MARCH, 1980, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI FOR THEIR APPROVAL OR DISAPPROVAL AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE SOUTHERN BELL TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, A FRANCHISE GRANTING THE RIGHT TO THE USE OF PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY TO INSTALL NECESSARY.: TELEPHONE; EQUIPMENT; PROVIDING FOR ONE PERCENT FRANCHISE FEE, TO BE AUG— MENTED BY ONE PERCENT ON JANUARY 1, 1981 AND AGAIN ON JANUARY 1, 1982; PROVIDING FOR ALL PAYMENTS IN EXCESS OF ONE PERCENT TO BE DEPOSITED IN SPECIAL ACCOUNT TO BE USED FOR FUNDING EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESCUE SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT; IMPOSING PROVISIONS AND CONDITIONS. WHEREAS, the City Commission, at a regular meeting, duly called and held according to law, has duly passed and adopted an Ordinance: granting a franchise for the use its streets to Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph and Company; WHEREAS, said Ordinance shall become effective only inthe event that shall be approved by ,a majority >of the qualified . electors <of the City of Miami voting at a special municipal election held forthe purpose of enabling said electors to register their approval or disapproval of said Ordinance; and: WHEREAS, it is appropriate and necessary that the City Commission make provision for holding said special municipal. election;, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, OP ITEMNO. Section 1. A special municipal election is hereby cal anddirected o be held `in the City of Miami, Florida :from"7:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, the llth day of March, 1980 for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Miami. for their approval or disapproval an Ordinance passed and adopted by the City Commission. Section 6., The City Clerk shallcause prepared absentee ballots containing the Question set forth in Section 4 above for the use o electors entitled to cast such, ballots in said election. Section 7.
