ORDINANCE NO. 9066
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW TRUST AND AGENCY
FUND ENTITLED: "SOUTHEAST SYMPOSIUM ON
THERAPEUTIC RECREATION" AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE NEW TRUST AND
AGENCY FUND; ESTABLISHING THE SOURCE OF REVENUES
THEREFOR; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE
REQUIREMENT OF READING THE SAME ON TWO SEPARATE
DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF
THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is receiving funds, as
set forth herein, for the implementation of the Southeast
Symposium on Therapeutic Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Southeast Symposium on Therapeutic
Recreation will provide training to professionals who are
involved in the provision of leisure time services to ill
and disabled individuals; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution
No. 80- , on February 12, 1980, instructing the City
Manager to accept these funds and to authorize the expendi-
ture of these funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following Trust and Agency Fund is
established and resources are hereby appropriated as
described herein:
FUND TITLE: Southeast Symposium on Therapeutic Recreation
RESOURCES: Registration Fees, Advertising Vendors, $10,000
and related sources
APPROPRIATION: Southeast Symposium on Therapeutic $10,000
Recreation
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
insofar as they are inconsistent or in
conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of section, para-
graph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is
declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this ordi-
nance shall not be affected.
Section 4. The requirement of reading this ordi-
nance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a
vote of not less than four -fifths of the members of the
Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12 day of February, 1980.

Ordinance to Establish New Trust
and Agency Fund for Southeast
Symposium
Proposed Ordinance: To Establish
Trust and Agency Fund for
Southeast Symposium
It is recommended that a Trust and Agency
Fund be established to receive funds for
a Southeast Symposium on Therapeutic
Recreation and to appropriate these funds
for the purpose of implementing the
Symposium.
The Department of Leisure Services is cooperating with The
Florida State University and the Florida Association of
Rehabilitation Facilities in the staging of the Southeast
Symposium on Therapeutic Recreation on March 3 - 5, 1980.
Funds for this event will be raised through registration
fees, advertising vendors and other means. This Ordinance
will establish a Trust and Agency Fund for these monies.
from which expenses for this Symposium will be appropriated.
