A MOTION URGING THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZA- TION SERVICE, AND THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO GRANT HAITIAN REFUGEES A STATUS THAT WILL PERMIT THEM TO BE ASSIMILATED INTO THE AMERICAN SOCIETY IN ORDER THAT THEY MAY OBTAIN GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT. A RESOLUTION URGING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DADE COUNTY:FLORIDA, AND THE MEMBERS OF THE DADE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD, DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO ADOPT A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THEIR RESPECTIVE CHARTERS CALLING FOR THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND THE DADE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD TO BE ELECTED ON A SINGLE MEMBER DISTRICT ELECTION BASIS RATHER THAN AT LARGE; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FORWARD COPIES OF THE HEREIN RESOLUTION TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS WELL AS TO THE MEMBERS OF THE DADE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD DADE COUNTY, FLO- RIDA. A RESOLUTION URGING GOVERNOR ROBERT GRAHAM TO SELECT AN INDIVIDUAL OF HISPANIC ORIGIN TO FILL THE EXISTING VACANCY ON THE SCHOOL BOARD OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FORWARD A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO GOVERNOR GRAHAM.
