HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09080EHK/slm AMENDMENT NO. 10 TO ORDINANCE NO. 9000 3/6/80 2bB ORDINANCE NO. 9080 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 9000, ADOPTED OCTOBER 179 19799 THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1980, AS AMENDED; BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS BY $9,080; DECREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, SEVERANCE PAY ACCOUNT, BY THE SAME AMOUNT; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9000 on October 17, 1979, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami, 1 Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1980; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9055 on January 10, 1980, increasing the appropriation for Personnel Services for adminis- trative support staff for each Commissioner in order to standardize the respective appropriation at $30,000 annually; and WHEREAS, the Personnel Services appropriation for administrative support staff of one Commissioner could not be standardized at $30,000 inas- much as the salaries of the respective employees totalled almost $31,900; and WHEREAS, it has now been proposed that the Personnel Services appropriation for administrative support staff for each member of the Board of Commissioners be standardized at $31,900; and WHEREAS, the additional cost of the aforementioned standardization of Personnel Services for administrative support staff for each member of the Board of Commissioners will amount to $5,746; and WHEREAS, the additional requirement for FICA Taxes resulting from the augmentation of the Personnel Services appropriation will amount to $2,981 for the increase effected by Ordinance No. 9055 and $353 for the aforementioned further increase of $5,746, for a total FICA requirement of $4,334; and ZIN P WHEREAS, the total additional cost of the aforementioned action will amount to an increase of $9,080 in the fiscal year 1980 budget for the Board of Commissioners; and WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $9,080 have been identified in Special Programs and Accounts, Severance Pay Account, and are available to fund said requirements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9000, adopted October 17, 1979, the Annual Appropriations Ordinance for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 1980, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars:V "Section 1. The following appropriations are made for the municipal operations of the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year 1979-80, including the payment of principal and interest on all General Obligation Bonds: Departments, Boards, and Offices GENERAL FUND Board of Commissioners Appropriation $--2A8;9;; $ 218,057 Special Programs and Accounts $6;982;128 $5,973,040 Section 2. The herein transfer of $9,080 from Special Programs and Accounts, Severance Pay Account, is made for the purpose of increasing the FY '80 budgets for the Board of Commissioners by $9,080. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1� Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provi- sions of this ordinance shall not be affected. Section 5. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission.
