L.'J,ennings' Director Stadiums & Marinas Department March 7, 1980 Proposed Rate Change Attachments It is recommended that an Ordinance be adopted which would enable the Department of Stadiums and Marinas to increase the non-refundable reservation fee to 20% of the . basic rental for perspective users of city -owned auditoriums and, further, that rental rates be increased for the municipal auditorium at the level of $200.00 across the board. With spiraling inflation, large fixed operation costs, and deficits averaging $14,000 per month during the first quarter, rate increases are essential in order that our financial losses are not at an inordinate level at the end of the fiscal year. In essence, we are respectfully requesting the following: 1. Increase of the non-refundable reservation fee from 10% to 20". 2. A $200 across the board rental rate increase at the Municipal Auditorium. 3. The establishment of a $200 per day rental fee for use of the Promenade Area at the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center. The Department of Stadiums and Marinas recommends the adoption of the enclosed Ordinance. RLJ:RPY:im cc: R. Paul Young, Assistant Director for Auditoriums C. Odio, Assistant City Manager G.
