A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF L.G.H.
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION IN THE PROPOSED
AMOUNT OF $1,296,686.00, BID ITEMS 1 AND
3 PLUS ADDITIVE ALTERNATE ITEMS 1 THROUGH
5 OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR TACOLCY CENTER
EXPANSION; WITH MONIES 'THEREFOR ALLOCATED
FROM THE "PARK AND RECREATIO,dAL FACILITIES
G.O. ,BOND EXPENDITURES" IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,296,686.00 TO COVER TIE CONTRACT COST;
ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF
$110,219.00 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT
EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE
AMOUNT OF $12,967.00 TO COVER THE COST
OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING
LABORATORIES, AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
SAID FIRM
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received March 11, 1980,
for TACOLCY CENTER EXPANSION; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the
$1,296,686.00 bid of L.G.H.Construction Corporation for
bid Items 1 and 3 Plus Additive Alternate Items l through 5
of the proposal is the lowest responsible bid and recom—
mends that a contract be awarded to said firm; and
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation
Ordinance No. 9019, as amended, was adopted on November 8,
1979, and monies are available for the proposed amount of
the contract, project expense, and incidentals, from the
account entitled "Park and Recreational Facilities G.O.
Bond Fund" as set forth under Section VI, Item B-59of
said ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The March 11, 1980 bid of L.G.H.
Construction Corporation in the proposed amount of
$1,296,686.00 for the project entitled TACOLCY CENTER
EXPANSION for bid Items 1 and 3 plus Additive Alternate l
through 5 is hereby accepted at the price stated therein
to cover the cost of said contract

Section 2. The amount of $1,296,686.00 is
hereby allocated from the account entitled "park and
Recreational Facilities G.O. Bond Fund" to cover the
cost of said contract.
Section 3. The additional amount of $110,219.00
is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the
cost of project expense.
Section 4. The additional amount of $12,967.00
is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the
cost of such incidental items as advertising, testing
laboratories, and postage.
Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into a contract on behalf of The City of Miami
with L.G.H. Construction Corporation for TACOLCY CENTER
EXPANSION, bid Items 1 and 3 plus Additive Alternate
Items 1 through 5 of the proposal.

The Department of Parksrecommends adoption
of the resolutionaccepting the bid received,
March'11, 1980 of L.G.H. Construction Corpor-
aton in the amount of $1,296,686.00, and
authorizing the City Manager to enter into
a contract on behalf of the City of Miami
for TACOLCY CENTER EXPANSION.
Bids were received March 11, 1980 for the TACOLCY CENTER-
EXPANSION, which consists of the demolition and the con-
struction of a building addition, a new building, pedestrian
plazas and seating areas, tennis and multi -purpose courts,
parking lot, drainage, curb and gutter, sidewalks, lighting,
irrigation, landscaping, and miscellaneous related work.
The site is located on N. W. 62 Street between N. W. 8 and
N. W. 10 Avenues.
As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $1,296,686.Oo.
bid of L.G.H. Construction Corporation is the lowest
responsible bid for bid Items#1 and #3 and Additive Alternate
Items #1 through #5 of the proposal.
Funds have been allocated under. the "Park and Recreational
Facilities G.O. Bond Fund" for the estimated amount of the
contract, for project expense, and for such items as.
advertising, testing laboratories, postage.
'Bids were also received for the 12TH AVENUE PARK located
on, the southeast corner of the intersection of N. W. 62
Street and N. W. 12 Avenue. Unfortunately, funds are not
available for this project.
