HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-80-027800" RESOLUTION NO. 8Q_2go r A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COMMISSION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY OF MAURICE GUSMAN, ONE OF THIS COMMUNITY'S MOST OUSTANDING AND RESPECTED CITIZENS. WHEREAS, MAURICE GUSMAN was a leader in worthy civic and social endeavors in this community; and WHEREAS, MAURICE GUSMAN lived a .full and productive life as a businessman, industrialist, civic leader and philanthropist, until his passing on Thursday, April 3, 1980, and WHEREAS, MAURICE GUSMAN actively supported numerous worthwhile charities, as well as championing the arts in our community including overseeing the renovation of the historic Olympia Theater in downtown Miami to create the Maurice Gusman Cultural Center, now operated by the City of Miami and recognized as one of the outstanding concert halls in the nation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. By and through the adoption of this resolution, the Commission, on behalf of the City of Miami and the citizens thereof, hereby expresses its deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences to the members of the family and friends of MAURICE GUSMAN, one of this community's most out- standing and respected citizens.
