AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 9019, ADOPTED NOVEMBER 8, 1979, THE CITY'S
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE,
AS AMENDED, BY APPROPRIATING FROM THE 1976
FIRE FIGHTING, FIRE PREVENTION AND RESCUE
FACILITIES BOND FUND AN AMOUNT OF $300,000 TO
FUND THE ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING PHASE
OF THE MIAMI FIRE RESCUE TRAINING FACILITY AND
TELEVISION SYSTEM, TO INCREASE APPROPRIATIONS
FOR NEW FIRE STATIONS NO. 4, NO. 9, NO. 14,
THE FIRE BOAT, ADMINISTRATION BUILDING;
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF
READING THE SAME ON TWO (2) SEPARATE DAYS BY A
VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS
OF THE COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9019
on November 8, 1979, establishing resources and appropriations
for the implementation of capital improvements in the City of
Miami, Florida for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 1980;
and
WHEREAS, Fire Stations No. 4, No. 9 and No. 14 are
presently in the construction process and additional funds in
the amounts of $30,000, $10,000 and $30,000, respectively, are
required to cover unanticipated shortages; and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $100,000 are
required for the refurbishing and modification of in --service
fire apparatus; and
WHEREAS, Fire Department offices in the new Administration
Building will be ready for occupancy in the very near future,
requiring additional funding in the amount of $10,000 for window
treatment and miscellaneous office equipment; and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $85,000 are
required to equip the recently acquired surplus LARC V
Amphibious Craft with a lightweight firefighting module before
it can be placed in service as a Fire Boat; and
WHEREAS, the architectural selection process is now under
way for the construction of the new Miami Fire Rescue Training

Facility and Closed Circuit Television System, requiring
additional funds in the amount of $35,000 for Architectural/
Engineering expenses and site clearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9019, adopted
November 8, 1979, as amended, is hereby further amended in the
following1/
particulars.
"Section 1. The following appropriations hereby
made by fund and project title include previously
authorized projects and fund appropriations for
implementation of all municipal capital improve-
ments of the City of Miami, Florida. The sources
of revenue to support the herein appropriations
are hereby identified by fund and project;

Section 2. All ordinances or parts of -ordinances
insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid,
the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be
affected.
Section 4. The requirement of reading this ordinance
on two (2) separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of
not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission.

Enclosed is a proposed amendment to the Capital Improve-
ment Ordinance No. 9019, increasing the Fire Department
bond appropriations by $300,000.
This proposed amendment was tentatively scheduled for
the March 31, 1980 City Commission Meeting but was
removed due to a technicality which has since been
corrected.
It would be appreciated if you would expedite review of
this amendatory ordinance so that it can be scheduled
for the April 10, 1980 City Commission Agenda.
