WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received March 10, 1980 for the furnishing of heavy equipment for the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to sixty-nine potential suppliers and thirty bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Garage Replace- ment Reserve Fund, The Parks Department Capital Equipment Budget, and the Community Development Capital Equipment Budget; and WHEREAS, this equipment is being purchased by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the use of other departments of the City; and WHEREAS, The City Manager and the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bids received from Tally -Embry Ford, Inc, H. F. Mason Equipment Corp., GMC Truck & Coach Division, Callahan Motor Co., International Harvester Co., Advanced Fabricators, Massey -Ferguson.
