TO ORDINANCE NO. 8719 ORDINANCE NO. __% Q 9 6 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 8719, ADOPTED OCTOBER 26, 1977, THE SUMMARY GRANT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE, BY ESTABLISHING A NEW TRUST AND AGENCY FUND ENTITLED: "STAFF TRAINING FOR ADAPTED RECREATION (3RD YEAR)" IN THE AMOUNT OF $66,735; AND APPROPRIATING THERETO A GRANT AWARD OF $40,500 WITH A CITY CASH MATCH OF $26.235 FOR THE OPERATION OF SAME; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WIT14 THE REQUIREMENT OF READING THE SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR - FIFTHS OF THE. MEMBERS Of THE COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance NO. 8719 on October 26, 1977 establishing resources and appropriations for grant funds anticipated by the City of Miami, Florida, and for corresponding City cash match requirements; and WHEREAS, the original Staff Training for Adapted Recreation grant was to be used for planning and establishing a Model Program; and WHEREAS, this is the Staff Training for Adapted Recreation grant, which is in the second year of a three (3) year grant for program implementation; and WHEREAS, this program will enable the Leisure Services Department to improve the delivery of recreational services to handicapped persons by training recreation professionals and students in adapting recreation programs and facilities for use by the handicapped; and WHEREAS, matching funds are available in the General Fund, Special Programs and Accounts, Matching Funds for Federal Grants, and $26,235 can be appropriated, together with the $40,500 grant award for a total of $66,735 into a new Trust and Agency Fund entitled: "Staff Training for Adapted Recreation (3rd Year)"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 8719, adopted October 26, 19779 as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars: 1/ "Section 1. The following Trust and Agency Funds are hereby established and resources are hereby appropriated as described herein: FUND TITLE: Staff Training for Adapted Recreation (3rd Year) RESOURCES: Federal Grant - United States Department of Healt E ucation and Welfare - Fiscal Year 80 $409500 Special Programs and Accounts, Matching Funds for Federal Grants $26,235 APPROPRIATION: Staff Training for Adapted Recreation (3rd Year) $66,735 Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provi- sions of this ordinance shall not be affected. Section 4. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than four - fifths of the members of the Commission.
