VTHERFAS, the Miami Planning Advisors Board at its
meeting of March 5, 1980, Item No. 1, followin�,, an advertised
hearing, adopted Resolution T?o. pAR 10-80 b a 6 to 1 vote
recommending that the name of Southwest First Street, between
Southwest 24th and 25th Avenues be redesignated as Southwest
First Street/Stingtown Boulevard; and
I•THRREAS, the Citv Commission deems it advisable and in
the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and
its inhabitants to -rant said change;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISsim OF T11F
CITY OF MIAVI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Southwest First Street, between Southwest 24th
and 25th Avenues be redesignated as Southwest First Street/
Stingtown Boulevard. Appropriate Citv mates, records and street
signs are directed to be changed accordingly and the Cite Clerk
is directed to inform the Postmaster, Dade Countv Department of
Traffic and Transportation, Signs and Markers Division, County
Clerk, Board of County Commissioners, and Miami -Dade Water and -
Sewer Authority; and authorizing the appropriate nenartments to
change their records.

Gentlemen:
The Miami Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting of March 5, 1980,
Item #1, following an advertised Hearing, adopted Resolution No.
PAB 10-80 by a 6 to 1 vote RECOMMENDING that the name of S.W. 1st
Street, between S.47 24th and 25th Avenues be redesignated as S.W.
1ST STREET/STINGTOWN BOULEVARD.
Three objections by mail.
A RESOLUTION to provide for this Street Name Change has been prepared
by the City Attorney's office and submitted for consideration of the
City Commission.

Avenue be redesignated as SW 1st Street/
Stingtown Boulevard.
REQUEST
To add "Stinc;town P.oulevard" to the name of
SW lst Street, for the one -block segment
between St%, 24th and 25th Averiues.
BACKGROUND
Students of ',Iiami Se;iior fligh School h ve
petitioned for this additional designation.
ANALYSIS
The City Commission, by Resolution 77-506;
dated June 6, 1977 (attached) has regog-
nized the intccTrity of the num,2riczl quad-
rant street and e!.tabli F:hk?d their policy
that the nu:,ibered street syst`.:i should not
be degraded. The acadition of "Stingto•,:n
Boulevard" to this one -block seciment of SW
1st Street is not seen as degrading the num-
bered street system.
