WHEREAS, sealed bids were received April 21, 1980
for ORANGE BOWL REPAIRS - RESTROOM RENOVATIONS; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the
$2883887 bid of MET Construction, Inc. for the base bid
of the proposal is the lowest responsible bid and recommends
that a contract be awarded to said firm; and
WHEREAS, funds for this project from the Orange
Bowl Enterprise Fund are anticipated from the Resort Tax
monies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The April 21, 1980 bid of MET Construe -
tion, Inc. in the proposed amount of $288,887 for the
project entitled ORANGE BOWL REPAIRS - RESTROOM RENOVATIONS
for the base bid of the proposal, based on a lump sum price,
is hereby accepted at the price stated therein to cover
the cost of said contract.
ITEM NO.
Section 2. The amount of $288,887 is hereby
allocated from the account entitled Orange Bowl Enterprise
Fund to cover the cost of said contract.

Section 3. The additional amount of $31,777 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost
of project expense.
Section 4. The additional amount of $5,777 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the
cost of such incidental items as advertising, testing
laboratories, and postage.
Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with
MET Construction, Inc. for ORANGE BOWL REPAIRS - RESTROOM
RENOVATIONS, base bid of the proposal, subject to the
availability of funds.

All bids shall be submitted in accordance :ith the instructions
to bidders and specifications. Plans and specifications may be

Awarding Contract
(For Commission Meeting
of May 8, 1980)
The Department of Public Works recommends
adoption of the resolution accepting the
bid received April 21, 1980 of MET
Construction, Inc. in the amount of
$288,887, and authorizing the City Manager
to enter into a contract on behalf of the
City of Miami for ORANGE BOWL REPAIRS -
RESTROOM RENOVATIONS.
Bids were received April 21, 1980 for the removal and
replacement of the concrete floors in the eight restrooms
at the 68-foot level; also, the refurbishing of the lower
press box - all located in the Orange Bowl Stadium.
As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $288,887 bid
of MET Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid
for the base bid of the proposal.
Funds have been allocated from the Orange Bowl Enterprise
Fund from anticipated Resort Tax monies for the estimated
amount of the contract, for project expense, and for such
items as advertising;, testing laboratories, posta�,e.
