WHEREAS, the Civil Service Board, on April 15 , 1980
unanimously recommended the approval of employment past the age of 76
for Harry Pearlman , Watchman Department of
Stadiums and Marinas , and;
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that the physical
condition of said Harry Pearlman is satisfactory for continued
employment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI FLORIDA:
Section 1. P one (1) year extension of employment past the age
of 76 is hereby granted for Harry Pearlman , Watchman
Department of Stadiums and Marinas , effective May 28,
19 8g through_ May 28 19 81 with the provision that in
event of a rollback or layoff, Barry Pearlman , rather than a
junior employee would be affected.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 8TH DAY OF MAY 19 80 .

The Civil Service Board, at its meeting of April 15, 1980, approved a
one (1) year extension of employment, beyond age 76, for Harry Pearl-
man, Watchman in the Department of Stadiums and Marinas. _
It is respectfully requested that a Resolution be adopted extending
Mr. Pearlman's employment from May 28, 1980 to May 28, 1981.

At its meeting of April 15,1980, the Civil Service Board considered the
request of Harry Pearlman, Watchman, Department of Stadiums and Marinas,
for an extension of employment beyond the age of 76, to be effective
May 28, 1980 through May 28, 1981.
The Board noted that Mr. R. L. Jennings, Director, Department of Stadiums
and Marinas, has recommended approval of this request and that Dr. L. A.
Toto, City Physician, has found Mr. Pearlman physically qualified to
continue employment for the additional year.
The Board voted to approve the request, with the provision that in the
event of a rollback or layoff, Mr. Pearlman, rather than a junior
employee, would be affected, noting that this is in accordance with past
policy.

Mr. Pearlman was given a physical examination on
April 7, 1920 to determine his fitness for con-
tinued employment.
He was found to have no chan0e in his physical
status. He %vas found to oe mentally alert, neat
and clean in his dress with no ecccntrici.ti.i_,s

by his personal physician vra, in accord with the
findings of City P,ledical.
He may continue to k%,ork in his present cla ssifi-
cation.

ENCLOSURES
Mr. Harry Pearlman, who is classified as Watchman with
this department, has requested continuation of active
service beyond his 76th birthday, May 28, 1980.
Mr. Pearlman is utilized in a senior watchman capacity;
and replacement of a person with his dedication, energy,
years of experience, and ability to handle subordinates
would be extremely difficult. This department is most
desirous of retaining his services.
In accordance with the City Coae of the City of Miami,
it is hereby recommended that _-Ir. Pearlman be retained
on active service.
Also be advised that Mr. Pearlman is not eligible for
pension.
