HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-80-0410r RESOLUTION NO. � L 0 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK OF P.N.M. CORPORATION FOR THE EDISON-LITTLE RIVER COMMERCIAL. (,ENTER C.D. BEAUTIFICATION - PHASE I; AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE CON- TRACT IN THE NET AMOUNT OF $3,132.67; AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $17,856.45. WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated August 10, 1979 between the City of Miami and P.N.M. Corporation; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed, and P.N.M. Corporation has furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, during the construction of the beautifi- cation project, numerous unforeseen problems resulted in additional costs, which resulted in an overrun to the con- tract in the amount of $3,132..67; and WHEREAS, monies from the cash allowance, along with an additional $6,500 authorized by Resolution No. 79-740 - L'.J `:' for an increase in scope, paid for previous added improve- m e n t s; a n d ,•, _.J `-•� WHEREAS, the Department of Community Development has confirmed that funds are available to cover this overrun; and "DOCUI4IEU 11NDLX I.TP�LpWj/ ., to WHEREAS, the City Manager and t Public Works recommend the increase of $3,132.67 to cover the increase in the contract; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The completed work performed by P.N.M. Corporation for EDISON-LITTLE RIVER COMMERCIAL CENTER C.D. BEAUTIFICATION - PHASE I is hereby accepted at a total cost of $105,032.67, which includes a net increase of CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JUNo i950 Ni, WTION ...... MAURICE A. FERRE M A Y O R AND CORRECTNESS: $3,132.67 from the previously authorized cost, using Community Development funds to cover said increase. Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay P.N.M. Corporation a balance of $17,856.45 as full and final payment for all work per- formed and all materials furnished in connection with the aforesaid contract. BEAU`I,IFICATIO?I - PHASE I, accentin,z thc, completed work performed by P.I.?:. Corporation at a total cost of $105,032.67, and authorizing a final payment of $17,856.45. P.N.M. Corporation has completed the project consisting of constructing 0.2 mile of streets including; asphaltic pave- ment, curb and :^;utter, sidewalk, storm sewer modifications, and landscaping*. The project is located on "I. E. 2nd Avenue between N. E. 79-82 Streets. In addition, right-of-way improvements in front of Little River Commerce Park, located at N. E 80 Terrace and N. E. 2nd Avenue, were added to this project. Durin.; the construction of the beautification project, numerous unforeseen problems resulted in additional costs that would normally have been covered by the $10,000.00 cash allo;r.ince, portions of which were used to cov:-r the cost of the imr-,rovoments around the park project.
