A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF LAMAR UNIFORMS, INC. FOR FURNISHING
UNIFORMS ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE YEAR FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE;
AT A TOTAL COST OF $130,549.05; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE 1979-80 OPERA-
INT BUDGET OF THAT DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE
PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received May 6, 1980
for the furnishing of Uniforms on a contract basis for one year for the Department
of Police; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 12 potential suppliers and 2 bids were
received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1979-80 Operating
Budget; and
WHEREAS, this equipment willbe used by the Department of Police for the
purpose of replacing worn uniforms; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Police recommend that the
bid received from Lamar Uniforms, Inc. be accepted as the most advantageous bid
to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The May 6, 1980 bid of Lamar Uniforms, Inc. for furnishing
Uniforms on a Contract basis for one year for the Department of Police at a
total cost of $130,549.05 is hereby accepted with funds hereby allocated from
the 1979-80 Operating Budget of that department.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the
Purchasing Agent to issue Purchase Orders for this equipment.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of JUNE 1980.

Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received May 6,
1980 for furnishing Uniforms on a Contract basis for one
year for the Department of Police.
Invitations were mailed to 12 potential suppliers and 2
bids were received as per the attached tabulation.
Funds for this purchase are available in the 1979-80 Opera-
ting Budget.
This purchase is for the annual uniform requirements for
the Police Department and will be utilized by all sworn
personnel as well as selected civilian personnel.
It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution
be passed accepting; the most advantageous bid as received
from Lamar Uniforms, Inc, for furnishing uniforms on a
Contract basis for one year at a total cost of $130,549.05.
The Department of Police concurs with this recommendation.
