HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09109l� LCD/slm AMENDMENT NO. 18 TO ORDINANCE NO. 9000 ORDINANCE NO. _ 97 n 9 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 9000, ADOPTED OCTOBER 17, 1979, THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1980, AS AMENDED; BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE ENTERPRISE FUNDS, COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER, IN AN AMOUNT OF $25,000; BY DECREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE ENTERPRISE FUNDS, MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM, IN THE SAME AMOUNT; FOR 'THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING ADDITIONAL PROPERTY 14AINTENANCE COSTS RESULTING FROM INCREASED USAGE OF THE COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF READING SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9000 on October 17, 1979, establishing revenues and appropriations for the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1980; and WHEREAS, according to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance, funds budgeted for property maintenance for the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center are insufficient to cover the costs resulting from increased usage of this facility during the 1980 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, it is estimated that an additional amount of $25,000 will be required for property maintenance for said facility for the remainder of fiscal year 1980; and WHEREAS, $25,000 is available in the Internal Services Property Maintenance account for the Municipal Auditorium and can be transferred to the Internal Services Property Maintenance account for the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center; ` 9109 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9000, adopted October 17, 19790 the Annual Appropriations Ordinance for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1980, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particul ars Y "Section 1. The following appropriations are made for the municipal operations of the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year 1979-80 including the payment of principal and interest on all General Obligation Bonds: Departments, Boards and Offices Appropriation ENTERPRISE FUNDS Coconut Grove Exhibition Center $----887 096 $ 312,306 Municipal Auditorium 280,976 Section 2. The herein increase of $25,000 in the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center Enterprise Fund and a corresponding decrease in the Municipal Auditorium Enterprise Fund is for the purpose of providing for additional property maintenance the costs resulting from increased usage of the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center in FY'80. Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provi- sions of this ordinance shall not be affected. 1� Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Grassie City Manager htanohar S. =Suran Ling Director Department an gement and Budget May 21, 1980 Legislation to increase appropriation for the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center for Property Maintenance Due to increased usage of the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center, funds budgeted for property maintenance will not be sufficient -for the remainder of fiscal year 1980. It has been recommended by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance that $25,000 be transferred from the Municipal Auditorium Internal Services Property Maintenance account into the Internal Services Property Maintenance account of the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center. The attached proposed ordinance provides for the above transfer of funds within the Enterprise Funds. ENCLOSURES: We have been requested by the enclosed memorandum from the Building and Vehicle Maintenance Department to transfer $25,000 into the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center's Inter- governmental Services Property Maintenance account. As there is no possible way to generate $25,000 from other Exhibition Center accounts, we concur with Mr. Cox's suggestion that a transfer be made from the Municipal Auditorium's budget. We now request that your department prepare an Ordinance appropriating $25,000 from the Municipal Auditorium's Inter- governmental Services Property Maintenance account (410701-772) to the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center's Intergovernmental Services Property Maintenance account (410801-772). .
