Per Chapter 380.06 F.S., local government is required to set a date certain and to give public notice 60 days in advance of a required public hearing on an Application for Develop- ment Approval of a Development of Regional Impact, prior to issuing a Development Order. A letter is expected by June 24, 1980 from the South Florida Regional Planning Council stating that the Nasher Plaza Application for Development Approval contains sufficient in- formation for their review and is tentatively scheduled on the Council agenda of July 7, 1980. Further, the letter is expected to state that the Development of Regional Im- pact public hearing must be set at the next scheduled meeting of the Commission and advertised at least 60 days in advance of the hearing, per Chapter 380.06 F.S. In the event that the letter from the South Florida Regional Planning Council does not arrive by the Commission meeting of June 26th, then the Commission is advised to defer this item until the July 10, 1980 meeting. It is requested that the Commission consider the setting of the hearing date at their meeting of June 26, 1980 and establish September 11, 1980 as the Development of Regional Impact public hearing date for the Nasher Plaza project which would allow for the required 60 day public notice.
