A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF SUPERTURF, INC. FOR FURNISHING
AND INSTALLING 8,400 SQUARE FEET OF ARTIFICIAL TURF FOR THE DE—
PARTMENT OF STADIUMS AND MARINAS; AT A TOTAL COST OF $43,800.00;
ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM ENTERPRISE FUND;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE
THE PURCHSE ORDER FOR THIS MATERIAL.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 30,
1980 for furnishing and installing 8,400 square feet of Artificial Turf for
the Department of Stadiums and Marinas; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 7 potential suppliers and 2 bids
were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Orange Bowl
Stadium Enterprise Fund; and
WHEREAS, this material will be used by the Department of Stadiums and
Marinas for the purpose of replacing worn and unsafe artificial turf in the
Orange Bowl player bench areas; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Stadiums and Marinas
recommend that the bid received from Superturf, Inc. be accepted as the most
advantageous bid to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The April 30, 1980 bid of Superturf, Inc, for furnishing
and installing 8,400 square feet of Artificial Turf for the Department of
Stadiums and Marinas at a total cost of $43,800.00 is hereby accepted with

reject all bids and readvertise.

Purchasing Agent Award of Bid, Resolution
Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 30,
1980 for furnishing and installing approximately 8,400 square
feet of Artificial Turf for the Department of Stadiums and Marinas.
Invitations were mailed to 7 potential suppliers and 2 bids were
received as follows:

Sport Install, Inc. $47,900.00
Funds for this purchase are available in the Orange Bowl Stadium
Enterprise Fund.
The existing artificial turf adjacent to the natural grass play-
ing field at the Orange Bowl has deteriorated to the point that
it is unsafe and unsightly. The replacement should commence as
soon as possible in order to be completed by August 1, 1980.
It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be
passed accepting; the most advantageous bid as received from
Superturf, Inc. for furnishing and installing approximately
8,400 square feet of Artificial Turf at a total cost of $43,800.00.
The Department of Stadiums and 'Marinas concurs with this recom-
mendation.

The bid specifications include removal'of the
existing turf and padding, making any neces-
sary repairs to the sub -surface, and furnish-
ing and installing new turf and padding.
HISTORY: This requirement has not been previously
purchased.
RECOMMENDATION: IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE AWARD BE MADE TO
SUPERTURF, INC.
