HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09122AMENDMENT NO. to ORDINANCE NO. 8719 ORDINANCE NO. 9122 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 8719 ADOPTED OCTOBER 26, 1977, THE SUMMARY GRANT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE, BY ESTABLISHING A NEW TRUST AND AGENCY FUND ENTITLED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNTY SUPPLEMENT; AND APPROPRIATING $37,100 FOR THE EXECUTION OF SAME; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE- WITH; AND CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY PROVISION; AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF READING THE SAME ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8719 on October 26, 1977 establishing resources and appropriations for grant funds anticipated by the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami administers an allocation of City Community Development Block Grant funds to Little Havana Community Center Day Care and to Little Havana Transportation Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami has received a commitment of funds from Dade County in the amount of $27,100 to Little Havana Community Center Day Care and $10,000 to Little Havana Transportation Program to supplement the City Community Development funds being allocated; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for these additional funds to be specifically allocated- t' to the projects for which they are intended; and WHEREAS, the herein ordinance is a proper vehicle to appropriate the funds; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section I of Ordinance 8719, adopted October 26, 1977, as amended is hereby further amended in the following particulars: l/ Section 2. The following Trust and Agency funds are hereby established and resources are hereby appropriated as described herein: FUND TITLE: Community Development County Supplement RESOURCES: County Grant $37,100 APPROPRIATION: Little Havana Community Center Day Care $27,100 Little Havana Transportation Program 10,000 $37,100 1/ Underscored words and/or figures constitute the amendment proposed. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. All figures are rounded to the next hundred dollars. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are incon- sistent or in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provision of this ordinance shall not be affected. Section 4. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of not less than four -fifths of the members of the Commission. Grassie City Manager en�i lman, Director Community Development .;t June 13, 1980 E Ordinance Amending the Summary Grant Appropriations Ordinance City Commission Meeting June 26, 1980 It is recommended that the Grant Appropriations Ordinance be amended to establish a new trust and agency fund to receive funds from Dade County which will sup- plement city funded programs in the Little Havana target area, and to appropriate these funds for this purpose, per the attached Ordinance. At the time the Community Development Fifth Year social service projects were being planned for implementation, Metropolitan Dade County agreed to provide supplemental funds to two projects already administered by the City of Miami. These were Little Havana Community Center Day Care, for $27,100, and Little Havana Transportation Program .for $10,000. Over the past several months Dade County has paid $14,775.10 for the Little Havana Community Center Day Care and $10,000.00 for Little Havana Transportation Program.
